Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade A

Putting Patients & Safety First

We’re proud to announce that The Hospitals of Providence Sierra Campus has again received the highest grade given by The Leapfrog Group, a national independent non-profit organization that rates hospital safety. We’re the only hospital in El Paso to achieve an “A” rating and 12 straight As in a row!

What does the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade mean?

The Hospital Safety Grade represents how well the hospital protects patients from errors, injuries and infections.

Why is it called Leapfrog?

Developed by The Leapfrog Group, the rating system is part of a driving movement to create “giant leaps forward” in the quality and safety of American health care.

What does this mean for our patients and their families?

When you choose a hospital, you want to be assured that safety is a priority.  At The Hospitals of Providence Sierra Campus, we take patient safety very seriously. The Leapfrog Safety Grade A is evidence of that commitment with independent confirmation of system-wide steps the hospital takes to protect you and your family throughout your stay.

What are some of the safety measures in place at The Hospitals of Providence?

  • Communicating with patients about their medications
  • Environmental safety, alerts and fall prevention protocol
  • Infection prevention, sanitization, and hand washing
  • Multiple controls to ensure medication is administered as prescribed
  • Patient assistance by staff to reduce fall risks
