Monica C. Vargas-Mahar, FACHE, MHA, is the the Chief Executive Officer for The Hospitals of Providence East Campus and Market Chief Operating Officer for The Hospitals of Providence Network.

Vargas-Mahar has more than 20 years of experience in the field of healthcare administration. She has previously served as Chief Executive Officer for Sierra Campus, Chief Operating Officer for Memorial Campus and Providence Children’s Hospital and Chief Operating Officer for East Campus.

Monica was born and raised in El Paso and graduated from Loretto Academy. She earned her master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California.
