Chicago, IL – Modern Healthcare has announced that Nicholas Tejeda, Group CEO for The Hospitals of Providence in El Paso, Texas, has been named to the “2021 Top Diversity Leaders” list. Tejeda is one of 25 healthcare leaders to be nationally recognized with this prestigious award and honor.

Now an annual recognition program, the Top Diversity Leaders award takes great pride in honoring the top healthcare executives from diverse backgrounds and the organizations influencing the policy and care delivery models across the country. In doing so, they are also highlighting the continued need to nurture diversity in their organizations.

Tejeda has served within The Hospitals of Providence, a member of Tenet Healthcare, since 2015. Locally and nationally, Tejeda has been recognized as a compassionate leader committed to improving healthcare access and elevating the quality of care available to all individuals regardless of their background. Tejeda serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for the American Hospital Association, previously served as Chair of the Institute for Diversity and Health Equity, and maintains an adjunct faculty appointment with the School of Nursing at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso.
