El Paso, TX –The Hospitals of Providence East Campus and Sierra Campus once again have earned a grade “A” rating in The Leapfrog Group’s Spring 2019 Safety Score, demonstrating the commitment East Campus and Sierra Campus has to delivering safe, high-quality patient care.

“Patient safety is our #1 priority.  We are proud to see a grade “A” for the 14th consecutive scoring period for East Campus,” said Monica Vargas-Mahar, Chief Executive Officer for The Hospitals of Providence East Campus.

Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades are updated every spring and fall following assessments of publicly available data for more than 2,600 hospitals across the country.  Leapfrog is considered the gold standard for measuring patient care and safety.

“Achieving a grade “A” recognizes our continuous commitment to placing safety at the forefront of our patients’ care,” said Rob Anderson, Chief Executive Officer for The Hospitals of Providence Sierra Campus.

The Leapfrog Group Hospital Safety Score is a rating system designed to give consumers information they can use to make healthcare decisions for themselves or a loved one. The Leapfrog Group assigns A, B, C, D and F grades to more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals based on their ability to prevent errors, injuries, accidents and infections.
