The Hospitals of Providence Breast and Women’s Center West achieves Quality Breast Center certification

EL PASO, Texas — The Hospitals of Providence has once again been recognized for the quality care it provides to the El Paso region.

The Hospitals of Providence Breast and Women’s Center West has been certified as a Quality Breast Center, through the National Quality Measures for Breast Centers program. The NQMBC was established in order to empower breast centers with the ability to measure and improve the quality of care provided to breast cancer patients.

“Women’s healthcare is a top priority for The Hospitals of Providence and the community we serve,” said Lisa Tarbutton, Director of Radiology Services for The Hospitals of Providence Sierra Campus. “The Quality Breast Center certification achieved by The Hospitals of Providence Breast and Women’s Center West keeps us accountable for ensuring that we provide the highest quality care to our patients. I’m proud of the work the center has done to attain this certification.”

The management of breast diseases, which includes screening, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, requires the interaction of multiple specialists in multiple departments, including surgery, physical therapy, radiation oncology and others. The Hospitals of Providence Breast and Women’s Center West offers a state-of-the-art facility and comforting environment, with a friendly and knowledgeable healthcare staff to assist women with testing and clinics. It provides advanced technology designed to increase the range of screening and diagnosis possibilities to our patients.

The certification recognizes that The Hospitals of Providence Breast and Women’s Center West quality performance meets the NQMBC’s standards and criteria and the center has supplied at least 75% of the measures used for quality breast centers to gauge performance. In addition, the Quality Breast Center designation certifies that The Hospitals of Providence Breast and Women’s Center West performed above the 25th percentile on 75 percent of the measures used for quality breast centers to gauge performance.
