EL PASO, TX – The Hospitals of Providence Memorial Campus has begun construction on a multi-million dollar renovation project on its Labor and Delivery Unit to modernize and improve the overall experience for laboring moms and families.

The three-month project will renovate all areas of the Labor and Delivery Unit, offering patients beautifully renovated suites with private bathrooms and showers, new furniture and flooring, and updated lighting and artwork. In addition to patient rooms, the unit will receive a refreshed update providing new nurses stations, lighting, flooring, painting and artwork throughout.

“Having a baby is one of the most exciting times in life. We want to ensure our moms and families have this experience in a warm and comfortable environment,” said Nicholas Tejeda, Group CEO for The Hospitals of Providence. “Our phenomenal team of physicians, nurses and staff already provide the highest level of care possible to El Pasoans. With this renovation, we will have an atmosphere that matches this level of expertise and skill.”

The Hospitals of Providence Memorial Campus is proud to be recognized as a Level IV Maternal Care Center and a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Center (NICU), offering the highest level of care to both mom and baby.

“We look forward to welcoming our laboring moms into the newly renovated unit in early 2022,” said Tejeda.
