Diseases & Conditions

We are dedicated to helping the women of El Paso achieve their highest level of bone health. At The Hospitals of Providence, we strive to stay up-to-date on the latest bone diseases and conditions — and to share that information with the community.

We provide information below on common bone conditions that we may treat at our bone health centers.

Osteopenia

Osteopenia refers to a bone mineral density that is lower than normal, but is not low enough to be considered osteoporosis. Having osteopenia puts a person at greater risk for bone fractures and for developing osteoporosis. Want to learn more about this condition? Connect with a physician in your area.

Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis is a condition that causes bones to become brittle and weak; this leaves them more susceptible to fracture. Women who are past menopause are at the highest risk for developing osteoporosis. Want to learn more about this condition? Connect with a physician in your area.
