The Hospitals of Providence Memorial Campus Unveils New $2M Cardiac Cath Lab
Feb 1, 2023EL PASO, Texas — The Hospitals of Providence Memorial Campus celebrated the renovation and opening of its new $2 million-dollar Cardiac Catheterization (Cath) Lab with a ribbon cutting celebration with physicians and staff. The latest investment by The Hospitals of Providence will provide new state-of-the-art technology and improve cardiovascular care for patients in the El Paso community.
Cardiac cath labs provide specialized areas to allow cardiologists to perform minimally invasive tests and advanced cardiac procedures to diagnose and treat cardiac and peripheral vascular diseases. The new cath lab uses the latest technology for both diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures such as angioplasty, stenting, atherectomy, cardiac rhythm management implants, and critical limb threatening ischemias.
“We are so excited to be dedicating our new cath lab that will ultimately provide advanced lifesaving cardiovascular care to our community,” said Rob J. Anderson, Chief Executive Officer for The Hospitals of Providence Memorial Campus and Providence Children’s Hospital. “Today, we not only unveil our new cath lab, but we also kick-off Heart Month and what better way to do that than celebrating an investment that will improve heart care for our region.”
The Hospitals of Providence Memorial Campus was recently recognized as one of only two hospitals in the nation to be accredited as a Peripheral Vascular Disease Center of Excellence by the Joint Commission. Hospitals receiving the Peripheral Vascular Disease Center of Excellence designation have demonstrated their commitment to consistent, high-quality peripheral vascular care and patient outcomes.
“We are incredibly proud of our team of physicians, nurses and staff who already provide exceptional heart care and to now unveil this cath lab to match that level of skill and expertise,” said Anderson. “We are committed to investing in our community to ensure they have the high-quality care they deserve close to home.”
