Gabriela A. Gallegos is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management, Policy, and Community Health at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston) School of Public Health in El Paso. Her research centers on policies and programs to strengthen food systems and promote active living, and she teaches courses in leadership,advocacy, and law. Ms. Gallegos also founded Race El Paso, the region’s leader in endurance and multisport races, which promotes active living through goal setting and community building. She serves on the Board of Directors for USA Triathlon and the Executive Boards for Americas Triathlon and World Triathlon. Ms. Gallegos obtained her law degree and master’s in public policy from University of California, Berkeley, and she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Philosophy (double major) from Cornell University.
