Revision Bariatric Surgery

Some patients may experience disappointing weight loss results or see a significant weight regain over time. In these cases, revision weight loss may be required.

For example, some gastric bypass patients may experience an enlargement of the stomach pouch, which can make the surgery less effective. In these cases, doctors may inject a scleroscent, a medicine that inflames the stomach pouch, or they may insert a StomaphyX device that folds the stomach pouch tissue. Both of these incision-less procedures reduce the volume of the stomach pouch back to the proper size.

For other patients, perhaps a new type of surgical weight loss procedure is available that was not available to you before. A revision weight loss surgery could give you the second chance you need to lose weight and live a healthier life.
